Typical Applications
While traditionally developed for use in the marine industry due to its durability and moisture resistance, marine plywood is also used in a range of other demanding applications. Its high-grade construction makes it ideal for premium furniture, cabinetry, and architectural joinery where structural integrity and a fine finish are important.
For projects where the face appearance is not critical—such as painted surfaces, fibreglass overlays, or hidden structural elements—our OO Grade marine plywood offers a more economical option. It retains the same high manufacturing standards and performance characteristics, making it a reliable choice when a quality panel is still needed.

Certifications & Standards
Austral Marine Plywood is manufactured to meet the rigorous requirements of AS/NZS 2272:2006, the Australian and New Zealand standard for marine-grade plywood. This standard represents the highest quality benchmark in the industry, ensuring that panels are built for superior performance in demanding applications.
To comply with AS/NZS 2272, only "A" grade veneers from approved marine species are used—most notably Araucaria (Hoop Pine). This species is specifically selected for its ideal combination of density, bending strength, impact resistance, and surface finishing qualities.
The panels are bonded with a durable A-Bond phenolic adhesive, often referred to as WBP (Water Boil Proof), ensuring long-term resistance to moisture and delamination even in harsh environments.
