The Abedian School of Architecture for Bond University in Queensland has been awarded the ‘State Public Building of the Year’ medal. The project was designed by an architectural team from CRAB Studio, London, led by architects Sir Peter Cook and Gavin Robotham.
CRAB Studio was awarded the contract for its design in 2011 following an international design competition and leading construction company, Adco Constructions was appointed project manager and design and construct builder by Bond University. Adco is one of Australia's top 100 private companies and its clients include Federal and State governments, listed companies and large organisations throughout Australia.
Mr Colin Kitto, Gold Coast Manager of Adco Constructions appointed Projects Queensland to undertake the joinery fitout of this prestigious project located on the Robina campus. He said Adco closely assessed the company's ability to complete this extraordinarily complex internal fitout and their track record for completion of hi-end fitouts was duly noted.
An iconic project such as this Abedian School of Architecture included many facets of complex joinery and it has been expertly delivered by Projects Queensland with zero defects at handover.
